With the revival of the Transformers franchise in the US due to Beast Wars, considered to be one of the best Transformers series ever, Japan released the newly translated and dubbed version as Beast Wars Metals series with a few minor changes and the release of the Beast Wars Tranmetals toyline to Japan.

With new hybrid alternate modes that combined both organics and technology, the Transmetals were born and so were the new Fuzors, a hybrid of two different animals into one. Beast Wars Metals continues the Beast Wars story and the war between the Cybertrons and the Destrons as Airazor battles the new Fuzor, Quickstrike, in this Beast Wars Metals versus set, VS-45.

Airazor is armed and ready to scrap the Destrons in her various modes; Peregrine falcon mode, pontoon plane mode, and robot mode. Convoy is reproduced straight from the Hasbro Beast Wars Transmetals Airazor with all the accessories which can be hidden in their animal mode.

Quickstrike, a Fuzor that has a hybrid mode of a cobra and a scorpion fused in one alternate mode, is armed and ready to destroy the Cybertrons in his new Fuzor mode which includes a Cobra head as his stinger that shoots water. Quickstrike is reproduced straight from the Hasbro Beast Wars Fuzor Quickstrike with translucent parts.
